How we use information
- Provide search, profiles, events, and account features.
- Send pre-launch waitlist updates and early invites to people who subscribe.
- Verify venue ownership claims and maintain listing integrity.
- Send service notices, status updates, and support responses.
- Improve product quality, performance, and abuse prevention.
Security and retention
We apply technical and organizational controls such as encrypted transport, access restrictions, and audit logging.
Information is retained only while needed for product operations, legal compliance, dispute handling, and trust and safety obligations. Account and listing records are retained while the account or listing is active; support records are reviewed for deletion after two years; security logs are retained only for a proportionate security period.
Business verification documents
For venue-management requests, we collect the minimum information reasonably needed to confirm that a claimant owns, operates, or is authorised to manage a venue.
- We prefer public ABN and ASIC register checks before requesting documents.
- Accepted documents may include an ASIC business-name summary, lease or management agreement, council or food-business registration, or signed authorisation from the business holder.
- Do not provide passports, driver licences, TFNs, bank statements, payment-card information, or unrelated personal information. Claimants should redact unnecessary details.
- Documents are stored in private storage and are available only to the claimant and authorised Local Brew reviewers through time-limited access links.
- Supporting document files are automatically deleted 90 days after a final decision, unless a dispute, fraud investigation, security incident, or legal obligation requires a temporary hold. We retain the claim statement, decision, reviewer record, and audit history as needed for listing integrity and accountability.
Your rights and choices
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request corrections to inaccurate or outdated details.
- Request account closure and deletion, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Manage communication preferences and account settings.
- Unsubscribe from waitlist or marketing emails using the link or instructions in the message.
- Export account and venue-workspace data where the feature is available.
Decisions and review
Ownership claims and venue submissions are reviewed by authorised Local Brew administrators. Automated controls may validate required fields, prevent duplicates, enforce file rules, or flag a submission for review, but they do not make a final ownership decision.
- A reviewer may approve, reject, or request more information.
- We provide the decision status and feedback through the account experience.
- You may correct information, resubmit where available, or contact support to challenge or clarify a decision.
